Buck Creek Foundation is a nonprofit organization seeking teens and adults with special needs who would like to work and live on a community farm. We seek to provide residential, vocational, rehabilitative, and transitional services.
Set on a century old farm in Longs, SC., this farm is deep rooted in the special needs community. The farm was purchased in 1878 and eventually farmed by William and Mary Johnson who were deaf/mutes. Mr. /Mrs. Johnson farmed the land with great pride. They received diplomas from the SC School for the Deaf and Blind. Encouraged by organizations, they sold their produce door-to-door with pre-printed cards as means of being self-sufficient.
Mr. Kyle Cavallini had a vision to create Buck Creek Foundation and Giving Hope Farms to honor his wife’s late grandparents. Dedicated to seeing the family farm of over 150 years become something special for very special people, Mr. Cavallini assembled a board of directors to fulfill this dream.
Buck Creek Foundation is currently seeking donations and volunteers to bring this dream to fulfillment!
